Beyond

Beyond

A sense of permanence is likely setting in now; you have this tiny human to care for. And while it is incredibly beautiful, it is a huge life change that requires grace & acceptance. You may also be feeling a loss of identity, and working overtime to learn this new self. Enter: matrescence,
a "profound, holistic developmental process of becoming a mother". Akin to adolescence, this is a sensitive developmental shift that requires care and support. You may be experiencing the following:

  • Struggling to cope with chronic sleep deprivation
  • "Bounce back" culture
  • Grief over a previous life
  • Anxiety over milestones
  • Loss of a sense of self
  • Struggle to engage in previously loved activities
  • Overload of parenting information
  • Confusion over your current values
  • Difficulties in prioritizing
  • Loss of intimacy in your partnership
  • Mood swings; elation followed by extreme sadness

... & so much more

i've lived it, and i've blossomed from it.

I've been in the mental health field for nearly a decade, and I thought I had a pretty good understanding of humanity... until I became a mother. It has cracked me wide open in ways I never knew possible. I've cried, laughed, screamed, and loved deeper and harder than I could have ever imagined.

I feel honoured to have already had my foot in the door in a field that would allow me to support parents-to-be and new parents along this wild ride.

My work is trauma-informed, and I use all previous work experience to guide you along this journey, and help you adapt to the endless changes that it entails.

I am also a group facilitator with The MotherFlock, and thank the women I work with who have inspired me along this journey.
